THE SECOND COMMANDMENT
DigiTeens
for

You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God,
in vain.
It is a call to reverence and respect that we must show to God. The commandment emphasizes that God’s name is holy and should be treated with utmost reverence. We must not misuse the name of God in several aspects such as hypocrisy, breaking the promise, and false swearing in the name of God.
God’s name represents His identity and character. God’s name requires a sense of reverence. So we are forbidden from misusing God’s name in any form, including playful or disrespectful speech.
The commandment urges us to repent, seek forgiveness, and avoid using God’s name in vain. Our speech should reflect reverence and sincerity when mentioning the divine name.
Do I ever use the name of God when I am angry?

“Be your own unique avatar;
thou shalt not
take anyone’s online profile (representation, personality, or character) as
your own.”
Do I use the names of others with respect and love?
Online profiles have the potential to inspire creativity in others, which can aid in innovation.
When we view another person's profile, our sensory organs are stimulated and we may be inclined to imitate or process the information in our own way. However, if we immediately like or use someone else's content without their permission, it can be considered theft and a breach of their trust. This can lead to unfaithfulness, disloyalty, and go against our conscience.
Another issue is the discrepancy between our online persona and our true self, which can cause feelings of isolation and disconnection. Social media has a profound impact on our identity, perception, and reality.

As we navigate this digital landscape, we must strive to be our unique avatars, resisting the temptation to lose ourselves in the curated lives of others.
Be true to yourself!
